Telecom CAD Technician

Location: Woodinville, WA

My Eastside client is seeking a Telecom CAD Technician II that can work as a member of the Telecom design team to draft and plan preparation of engineering documents of the highest quality. These will consist of complete and accurate work plans, detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches and/or notes from Architects/Engineers/CAD Lead. The Telecom CAD Technician II shall be asked to fill in for the CAD Lead by being familiar with position, answering questions, and attending workload meetings.

Education, Experience, Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/Associate's Degree or technical certification in a relevant field such as architectural, engineering, surveying or construction management
  • The Telecom CAD Technician II must have 3-5 years of experience
Skills and Specifications:
  • Beginning to Intermediate skills with Adobe products (Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator)
  • Possess understanding of Telecom plan sets; lease exhibits, photosims, UCR, zoning and construction
  • Beginning to Intermediate skills with workings of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Meet with CAD Lead to help maintain workload and meet deadlines
  • Provide support to CAD Lead and other Project Managers and/or Engineers/Architects by preparing documents under deadlines
  • Incorporate redlines into existing drawings
  • Prepare Telecom lease exhibits, zoning and construction sets for submittals
  • Modify drawings to company standards, plot/scan drawings and create portable document format (PDFs)
  • Research public agency information: Utilities, research files, drawings and maps for relative information, check assessor’s information, survey maps and parcel information (GIS)
  • Modify and update AutoCAD standards per CAD Lead
  • Convert sketches from CAD Lead into AutoCAD drawings
  • Execute projects from start to finish: Prepare, work with Architect/Engineer and co-workers, sketching, completing drawings, survey clean-up, 1A site location (if services needed by Survey), drafting of lease exhibits/zoning/UCR/construction sets, structural (if services needed by Structural), rendering
  • Telecom CAD Technician II must possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
